This course is for individuals responsible for taking data and turning it into powerful reports. With DAX you can create reusable formulas the allow you to rapidly iterate and answer questions across multiple data tables and across different sources for complex reporting requirement.
This course covers essential information needed for advanced reporting requirements. Specifically, it leverages the DAX language, teaching how to build models that extend the capabilities Power BI, Excel, or SQL Server Analysis Services. Specific topics covered include proper understanding of DAX evaluation, controlling evaluation context, understanding relational functions, error handling within the data model, working with time intelligence calculations.
This class is for users of either Power BI, Excel Power Tools, or SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). While all three products have a very similar DAX-related interface, the course will be taught using the Excel 2016 software. Users of Power BI and SQL Server should have no problems with the slight differences between products.
This course is aimed at Excel power-users, Power BI users who have a need to create dynamic reports that are based on the Excel / Power BI Data Model. Our Essential Data Preparation Skills for Data Mining course is a great complement to this class and is also designed for users of Excel, Power BI or SQL Server.
