R is an open source programming language and software environment for statistical computing and graphics. It includes linear and nonlinear modeling, classical statistical tests, time-series analysis, classification, conditional statements, loops and data frames. With R publication-quality plots can be produced including mathematical symbols and formulas where needed.
R is available as free software. It compiles and runs on Windows, MacOS and a wide variety of UNIX platforms and similar systems (including FreeBSD and Linux).
