CompTIA Server+ Certification Training Course Outline

 (5 days)
Version SK0-004

The CompTIA® Server+® (Exam SK0-004) course builds on your existing professional experience with personal computer hardware support to present the next tier of skills and concepts that you will use on the job when administering any type of network server. If your job duties include server troubleshooting, installation, or maintenance, or if you are preparing for any type of network server-related career, it provides the primary knowledge and skills you will require to be successful. The CompTIA® Server+® (Exam SK0-004) course can also benefit you if you are preparing to take the CompTIA Server+ examination (Exam SK0-004).

Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to perform the duties of a server administrator.
In this course, you will:
•Manage server hardware.
•Install server hardware and operating systems.
•Configure networking hardware and protocols.
•Perform basic server configuration tasks.
•Create a virtual server environment.
•Administer servers.
•Implement server storage solutions.
•Secure the server.
•Plan and test disaster recovery.
•Troubleshoot server issues.

Target Student:
This course is designed for IT professionals such as PC, desktop, and help desk technicians who have experience supporting PC hardware who wish to make the transition to become server hardware and support specialists. This course is also designed for existing server managers who are preparing to take the CompTIA Server+ Exam SK0-004.

Certification Exam Vouchers Included (A $277 value!)
All of our CompTIA classes include the cost of the CompTIA exam vouchers. With this class, a voucher for exam SK0-004 is included--a $277 value. Students must schedule when and where they will take the exam through Pearson Vue, the CompTIA testing service.

Retaking an Exam
Retake exams are at your own cost. A voucher is good for a single exam attempt. If you do not pass, you will need to purchase another voucher to retake that exam. ONLC does not provide free "retake vouchers." Therefore, be sure to do the necessary preparation before scheduling your exam.

To ensure your success in your course you should have 18 to 24 months of hands-on experience with installation, configuration, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of PC hardware and network operating system issues. It is also recommended that you have the CompTIA A+ certification or the equivalent training and experience. You can obtain this level of skills and knowledge by taking the following Logical Operations courses:
• CompTIA® A+ Certification: A Comprehensive Approach
• CompTIA® Network+®
