Saturday Session: Word 2010/2013 Level 1 Course Outline

 (1 day)
Version 2013

After Hours / Saturday Event

Please note that this one-day course is scheduled to run on Saturdays.

Please look at the schedule listed on the right of this page to choose the date that works best for you.

Although this class will be taught using Microsoft Word 2013 and ONLC's "Word 2013 Introduction" manual, this class is relevant for individuals using either the 2010 or 2013 versions of the software.

The instructor will note where there are differences in features and functions between the two versions. For the most part, those differences will be minor related to the topics taught in this class.

These classes contain the same content that is delivered in our weekday events. Our training facilities are closed after-hours. As a result, you must attend these events from your home or office.

Overview
These days, most people take electronic word-processing for granted. While we may still write out our grocery lists with pen and paper, we expect to use a computer to create the majority of our documents. It's impossible to avoid word-processing software in many areas of the business world. Managers, lawyers, clerks, reporters, and editors rely on this software to do their jobs. Whether you are an executive secretary or a website designer, you'll need to know the ins and outs of electronic word-processing.

Microsoft® Word 2013 is designed to help you move smoothly through the task of creating professional-looking documents. Its rich features and powerful tools can make your work easy, and even fun. In this course, you'll learn how to use Word 2013 to create and edit simple documents; format documents; add tables and lists; add design elements and layout options; and proof documents.

You can also use this course to prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification exams for Microsoft Word 2013.

Microsoft Office Preview Software
This course was developed using the Microsoft Office Preview version of the software. Screenshots, procedures, and activity steps are consistent with the version of the preview software that was available at the time the course went to press. The course will be revised and re-issued when final software is available. It is possible that there may be interim updates to the preview software, which might cause minor discrepancies between the courseware and the application version you are running in your classes.

This course is intended for students who want to learn basic Word 2013 skills, such as creating, editing, and formatting documents; inserting simple tables and creating lists; and employing a variety of techniques for improving the appearance and accuracy of document content.
