Microsoft RPA Technical Overview Course Outline
Overview
This 2-day instructor-led course is designed to give students a hands-on introduction to the Robotic Process Automation capabilities that are available from Microsoft’s Power Platform. This lab-intensive course is designed to give students hands-on experience with many of the primary components of a Microsoft Robotic Process Automation solution. Topics include UI Flows, AI Builder, and the WinAutomation desktop automation tool (WinAutomation was originally developed by Softomotive, which Microsoft acquired in May 2020).
Audience Profile
The primary audience for this course is technical users who want to gain a deeper understanding of the Robotic Process Automation components provided by Microsoft’s Power Platform.
Prerequisites
This course has no specific prerequisites, but a general familiarity with the Windows operating system and business applications such as Microsoft Excel will be helpful.

Module 1: Introduction to Robotic Process Automation
This module provides a general overview of Robotic Process Automation, best practices, and pros and cons. Topics include:

Module 2: Introduction to Power Automate
This module provides an overview of Microsoft Power Automate. Topics include:

Module 3: Introduction to UI Flows
This module covers the basics of UI Flows, the powerful desktop automation component of Power Automate. Topics include:
Integrating with legacy systems
Installing the UI Flow components
Setting up a gateway
Creating a UI Flow
Input & output parameters
Module 4: Hyper Automation Integration
This module goes into more depth on how UI Flows can be used to connect legacy systems to other services, and also introduces AI Builder, which allows business users to take advantage of powerful AI capabilities. Topics include:
