Oracle On-Demand Learner Profiles
Oracle On-Demand (also known as the Oracle Student Learning Subscription) is a self-study training solution that was designed for two types of learners. First, Oracle On-Demand is a great fit for experienced IT professionals who don't need a traditional 5-day class to upgrade their existing skills. They can pick and choose topics to make the most effective use of their time. Second, Oracle On-Demand is perfect for highly-motivated individuals who are new to a technology, such as Workforce Development candidates, that need to space their learning over a period of weeks or months. These learners can take their time and repeat sections as needed until they master the new concepts.
About Oracle On-Demand
Our Oracle On-Demand classes are self-study courses with 30 to 40 hours of content. They include hours of videos, hands-on labs using the actual software, and knowledge checks and were created by Oracle to mirror the content found in the traditional live instructor-led version of this course. Those features are all part of the standard Oracle On-Demand training.

Final Project
Working in small teams (2-4) students create single and multi-player versions of a BlackJack dealer micro service by using real-world skills learned in the course. These include:

Course Environment
Students have access to Oracle’s latest Cloud Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments like Developer Cloud Service and Application Container Cloud Service to develop, deploy and monitor RESTful applications.
Course Purpose
The Node Fundamentals course teaches students how to code using JavaScript and the Node.js framework. The course teaches fundamentals of creating client-side web applications using the JavaScript language, and server-side components used by the Node.js framework. Students create RESTful web applications which can be deployed directly to the Oracle Cloud. Students taking this course receive a solid basis in JavaScript and Node.js programming and real-world coding skills upon which to base continued work and training.
Course Content/Components
Code in JavaScript and use the Node.js framework.
Use real-world Agile development best practices and tools provided through Oracle’s Cloud Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
Work collaboratively in teams to develop, integrate and deploy Node RESTful Applications.
Co-develop and manage applications as part of a development team using Agile development methodologies.
Use Git and Maven to share and version project files, and use Oracle Developer Cloud Service to manage project resources in the cloud.
Develop a REST microservice application that demonstrates their knowledge of Java programming concepts.
Use HTTP, REST, and JSON to create REST web services with Java
Deploy your REST Application to the Cloud using Oracle Application Container Cloud Service
Apply core concepts of Scrum and Agile Development
Install Node locally and use the Node Package Manager to build basic Node applications
Develop basic JavaScript code
Develop and Test basic HTTP REST services
Pass parameters and JSON objects to REST services
Deploy JavaScript applications to the cloud
Build applications for the front-end using JavaScript
Use jQuery to simplify JavaScript applications
Use more advanced JavaScript, including functional programming
