Dynamics CRM 2016 has lots of new features and performance upgrades that you will want to take advantage of if you’re in charge of managing and maintaining your company’s Customer Relationship Management system. Let’s go over some of the wins and gains included in 2016.

Improve Customization Performance

In previous versions, when you publish your customizations, the first user to access the mobile apps or service hub would take a performance hit. This is because their sign-in prepared the metadata package so it could be downloaded. With Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016, you simply click a new button that will go ahead and prepare the metadata package ahead of time, so the first user doesn’t have to wait.

Reduce Redundancy in Excel Reports

You can now upload Excel templates and share them with your users. This will save lots of time if your users create the same Excel documents over and over directly from the CRM. Now they can just use your pre-formatted templates instead of manually creating their spreadsheets each time. You can also do the same thing with Word and other Microsoft Office applications.

Mobile Forms Preview

It also includes a new mobile form and dashboard preview so that you can see how your changes look on phones and tablets before you publish them for community consumption. This will eliminate bugs and appearance issues that you couldn’t anticipate because you couldn’t see exactly what your users were going to see.

Get Your Mobile Devices Intune

Microsoft Intune integration will allow you to manage your mobile apps and get them in sync with your company’s business and security policies. You can encrypt data, wipe old data and apply policies remotely on Windows, Android and iOS devices.

No Programmer Needed

CRM 2016 provides a new user interface that will allow business personnel to modify business logic and functionality. In previous versions, you had to have a programmer write these rules in Javascript. Now, business logic can be easily changed and implemented without the need for a technical resource. Time and money savings are built in with this new feature.

Document Sharing

SharePoint Server integration now supports the four different ways you can connect to SharePoint. It even includes connections for hybrids of online and on-premises infrastructure implementations so that users can access their documents on either platform from any place.

Mail Integration

You can also integrate with Microsoft Exchange to synchronize tasks, appointments and contacts. A new performance dashboard is also included so that you can monitor mailbox health and quickly fix synchronization problems.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 is a huge upgrade that incorporates all of the features released in CRM Online 2015 Update 1 and then builds upon that. To find out how to leverage all of the new features provided in CRM 2016, why not get some formal training to elevate you to expert level.
