The Security Certified Program (SCP) offers advanced, vendor-neutral IT security certifications. The SCNS, SCNP and SCNA certifications provide a solid knowledge of both defensive network security systems and the newer trusted needs of security and is approved content for Department of Defense Directive 8570.1.

SCP Certification

  • Security Certified Network Specialist (SCNS). The Security Certified Network Specialist (SCNS) certification is the starting point with the SCP, a required prerequisite for going further towards the SCNP and SCNA certifications. The SCNS focuses on the critical defensive technologies that are the foundation of securing network perimeters, such as firewalls, intrusion detection, and router security. This certification tests the candidate’s ability to work with, and implement, real world security technology. To become SCNS certified, candidates must successfully pass the Tactical Perimeter Defense (TPD) exam.

  • Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP). This certification builds upon the concepts and hands-on training covered in SCNS and continues the development of security knowledge and skills. The SCNP focuses on important infrastructure elements in the network, including the security of Windows and Linux systems. This certification tests the candidate’s ability to secure essential components of the network. SCNP certification requires SCNS credential (above) plus successfully passing the Strategic Infrastructure Security (SIS) exam.

  • Security Certified Network Architect (SCNA). Security Certified Program’s Security Certified Network Architect (SCNA) certification continues to build upon the knowledge and skills covered in SCNS and SCNP certifications. The SCNA focuses on advanced areas of building trusted networks, such as digital certificates, digital signatures, and securing email, through advanced concepts, such as forensics and biometrics. To become SCNA certified, candidates must hold an SCNP credential (above) and successfully pass two exams—Enterprise Security Implementation (ESI) and The Solution Exam (TSE).
