Welcome to ONLC Training Centers
  Remote Classroom Instruction

Watching the Instructor

You'll have a computer dedicated to viewing the instructor's presentation. Next to your student workstation you will have a computer that is dedicated to showing you what the instructor is doing in the other classroom. Everything that the instructor sees on his monitor in the traditional classroom will also be displayed on that dedicated instructor computer in your room.

Just like a projector in a traditional class. Instructors use this to present information in the same way they would use a projector in a traditional class. It gives them the ability to demonstrate the software that is being used in the class, they can display PowerPoint slides.

With the ability to project whiteboard work. However, unlike anything that you probably experienced in a traditional class, with this technology the instructors also can share what they are writing on their whiteboard. Using a special whiteboard capture device, the instructor can share illustrations as they are created in the traditional classroom.

And webcam images. In addition, when the webcam is turned on, you will be able to put a "face to a voice" and see the instructor. In most cases, instructors use the webcam intermittently through the day.

Brings the instructor's presentation to the remote classroom. By seeing everything that the instructor has on the screen from software demonstrations, to PowerPoint slides, to whiteboard work, and webcam images, students in remote classrooms are able to focus their attention on the instructor's presentation even though the instructor is not in the same room.
