Overview
This course introduces you to basic concepts that provide the foundation for IBM® Lotus® Domino® 7 and IBM® Lotus® Notes® 7, and it is the point of entry to the entire core system administration curriculum. This course covers the foundational knowledge needed to perform basic administrative tasks in a Lotus Domino 7 infrastructure. This course does not cover how to install, configure, maintain, or troubleshoot a Lotus Domino 7 infrastructure.

Course Objective
You will be introduced to the basic concepts that provide the foundational knowledge needed for administering a Lotus Domino 7 infrastructure.

Target Student
The target audience for this course is network or mail system administrators who are new to Lotus Domino 7 system administration, but have some experience using the Lotus Notes 7 client, and who need to acquire a foundational knowledge and working experience with the Lotus Domino 7 administration tools.

Prerequisites
The prerequisites for this course include previous experience as a network administrator or mail system administrator, and experience using the Lotus Notes 7 client.

Delivery Method
Instructor led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities.

Performance-Based Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
be introduced to the architecture and key components of the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino environment.
perform basic administrative tasks using Lotus Domino Administrator.
be introduced to the naming structures and security components used to control access to a Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino environment.
examine how Lotus Domino supports mail routing within an organization's intranet.
examine how Lotus Domino replication works.
identify some of the software options available to extend and enhance a Lotus Domino installation.
