NEWFDA and Holyoke Community Partnership
With the constant and growing need in the food industry for continuing educational opportunities, the North East Wholesale Food Distributors Association (NEWFDA), the nation's oldest food association, has expanded its efforts to promote educational, personal and professional development among employees at all levels of the food industry. NEWFDA has partnered with Holyoke Community College (HCC) and Western New England College (WNEC) to form the Food Industry Learning Center (FILC). The FILC provides access to affordable, flexible and convenient non-credit distance learning courses to food industry employees and their families. NEWFDA members are automatically enrolled as Corporate Partners with all FILC educational providers at no additional cost. This allows employees access to exclusive features on courses through NEWFDA aimed at creating a highly-trained competitive workforce for your organization. Classes are provided through ONLC Training Centers. ONLC has been providing computer training since 1983 and has served over 250,000 students. ONLC is authorized by Microsoft and Citrix. Classes can be attended via Remote Classroom Instruction (RCI), which blends traditional classroom instruction, multiple training locations, and the best-of-class computer and audio conferencing technology. Via RCI, you will practice with hands-on labs on a computer the instructor can see, and you are able to see their computer and talk with them whenever you have questions or comments. Additionally, you may choose to attend at one of our locations or have us deliver the class to a group at your facility. |
