Retirement of SQL Server 2008 & 2005 Exams
Microsoft certification exams for SQL Server 2005 were retired on June 30, 2011. The upgrade exams from version 2005 to version 2008 were retired as of July 31, 2012. Students pursuing a SQL Server 2008 certification will be able to earn a MCITP or MCTS for SQL Server 2008 until July 2013.
MCSE Recertification Requirement
Candidates who earn any of the MCSE certifications for SQL Server 2012 will be required to recertify every three years.
